Explore Maui's Underwater Wonders - The warmth, the crystalline clarity, the magnificent living coral reefs, the multitude of brightly colored sea life, all within easy reach - Hawaiian waters are perfect for snorkeling! On Maui, you can double the pleasure and combine snorkeling with sailing.

The island is surrounded by some of the best diving spots in the state. A famous one is Molokini, a small volcanic island 3 miles off Maui's coast. The coastal area of Kalaeloa (Turtle Town) is known for its fascinating lava formations and green sea turtles. The water at both of these locations is so clear that you can see many feet down, sometimes even to the ground. Besides turtles, you may see dolphins, whales, monk seals, manta rays, eels, octopi and many other colorful fish. You can find pristine diving and snorkeling spots also on the island of Lanai, just a short and fun boat ride away from Lahaina.

SNORKEL MAUI - When National Geographic Traveler came to Hawaii to write a cover piece on "The Real Maui" they chose marine biologist Ann Fielding to guide them to the marine life most tourists never see. Ann takes small groups of snorkelers and divers to her favorite reefs to share her extensive knowledge.
